Just Vibe
You know what? Creating videos for social media doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes, all you need to do is vibe.
If you haven't seen the official Dr. Seuss Instagram account, they occasionally post absurd clips of the Cat in the Hat. This one specifically caught my attention - it's simply the Cat hypnotically dancing to electronic music:

It makes absolutely no sense. It's pure vibes, and that's what makes it shareable (last I checked, it had been shared 260k times).
Interestingly, my most successful series on YouTube fits into the 'vibe' category. It's no hypnotic dancing cat, but my way of creating a vibe was to animate sliced fruit with oddly satisfying sounds.
The entire fruit slicing series has roughly 430M views on YouTube.
Why not vibe?
Sometimes you just need to let go. Don't tell a story. Don't push a product. Don't educate.
In my opinion, it really just comes down to tapping into an emotion. Whether you're an artist or business owner, there's definitely a part of your process that's frustrating, joyful, or relaxing.
Is there an interesting way to capture that moment and then heighten it through sound? Instagram Stories are a great way to practice - record a single shot and add music. Try to capture a feeling instead of simply 'showing something'.
Here's an example
I did a quick search and found this company that produces custom leather steering wheel covers. Sounds boring, but they've tapped into the vibe of simply highlighting their stitching process and adding relaxing or groovy music. Their channel has 63k subscribers and hundreds of millions of views - impressive for constantly repeating the same formula while showcasing a product:
