How I Pitched a Brand Partnership
I spent most of February working on this (miniature) Porsche Taycan animation.
In my opinion, one of the most valuable skills for being hired to produce assets like these is clear communication. Especially when it comes to getting a green light to begin production.
Stop-motion is one of those mediums that's essentially fully baked once filming is complete. It's difficult to change anything, so it's important that everyone involved knows what's going to be delivered.
Video Pitching
To get the green light on this animation, I filmed a quick block (a few dozen key images) and then recorded myself walking through the plan using Loom.
I've mostly used storyboard PDFs throughout my career, but I've recently shifted to video pitching because of the increased clarity and enthusiasm I can bring to the table.
This gave Porsche a really clear idea of what I was going to spend 2-3 weeks animating and the opportunity to give a handful of performance and lighting notes.
