Do You Have a Sketchbook or Portfolio?

At the start of this year, I updated my internet bio to include Inventor of Magical Effects.

I'm at my creative best (and most prolific) when I allow myself to experiment. Framing my approach as being inventive lets me focus on trying new or random techniques without much concern for posting polished entertainment. Essentially, I can do whatever I want.

For this week's video, I wanted to try an interactive object multiplication. Simple as that.

Treating my online presence as a sketchbook of ideas works best for me. I also know a lot of professional artists who vanish for months at a time and only reappear to share their best work - more like a portfolio.

Neither is better than the other, and it's important to know that either can be incredibly successful. I see so much encouragement to be constantly present online or post X times per week to stay ahead of algorithms. That's all nonsense. Do what's best for you and your creative work.
